Bottle Pro—The Safest Way to Take Your Water Bottle in Your Car

January 29, 2015— For those who have an active lifestyle, being on the road can have not only its perks but peeves as well. For one, standard cup holders in cars cannot hold water bottles such as Nalgenes and Klean Kanteens.

Michael Schultz has created a solution for this—the Bottle Pro, for which he has created a Kickstarter campaign for.

Schultz shares his own experience, “I have always brought along my 32-oz Nalgene bottle on those long drives, but there was no good way to keep it securely next to me while driving. I know I’m not the only one who has had this problem!”

He thus created the Bottle Pro, which is a car cup holder adapter that can fit most large water bottles and coffee mugs. He says, “While I cannot recommend driving with an open coffee mug, if you’re going to do it anyways, please get a Bottle Pro. It’s the safest way to keep your coffee mug close at hand.”

The Bottle Pro consists of a Main Piece and two Adapter Sleeves. The Main Piece has a 3.8” inside diameter on top, which fits most large bottles. The outside diameter of the bottom of the Bottle Pros fits the smallest cup holders. It has a 1” wide opening to accommodate coffee mug bottles.

Meanwhile, the small sleeve expands the base out to 2.9” outside diameter, while the large sleeve expands the base up to 3.3” outside diameter.

The sleeves stack together so the large sleeve locks around the small sleeve for easy storage. This makes the Bottle Pro set compact and easy to carry around. It is also easy to clean. “The middle of the main piece is filled in, and the 1″ vertical opening has a small edge at the bottom. These two features make sure that any condensation or small spills are caught by your Bottle Pro and do not drip into your car’s cup holder. You can easily take your adapter inside and wash it in the sink rather than bringing your cleaning supplies out to your car,” says Schultz.

Through the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, he aims to raise $2,500. This will go towards purchasing the plastic mold to make the product. According to Schultz, this campaign will help him fast track production of Bottle Pro.

In return, backers of the campaign will get to preorder the Bottle Pro so they will be the first ones to get it straight off production.

About Michael Schultz
My wife and I are transplants now living here in Salt Lake City. We’re constantly on the road seeing all the parks and natural wonders in this state and the surrounding areas. There’s a lot to see out there, and we’re doing our best to get to it all. So much to see, so little time.
