Free and independent Community Radio Station GIVE THE GIFT OF FREE SPEECH KNSJ Radio, YOUR Network for Social Justice, is an independent community radio station in the San Diego County and border region area. KNSJ is a radio station of the people, by the people and for the people and as an independent media outlet will give a voice to hundreds of thousands of people currently unheard. Immense work was put in over the past few years in San Diego to obtain the FCC License for KNSJ 89.1 FM out of Descanso, and it is now time TO DO OR DIE. If the station is not On-Air by July of 2013 the license will be lost and San Diego’s chance for truly independent media to be Live On-Air will go with it. KNSJ is already streaming original, new and fresh audio content online at from contributors such as San Diego’s East County Magazine, the San Diego Troubador, Ricardo Beas, David Rovics, Philip Raquel, Zenger’s Magazine, and band Liquid Blue. A list of KNSJ’s current shows can be found here HELP US GET, and STAY, ON-AIR We have determined a low-end estimate of 00 in monthly operating costs once we get on-air. Start-up costs are large as we are in process of purchasing an antennae to place upon the tower on Monument Peak in Descanso, which will require regular monitoring by a hired surveyor. We also need to also purchase updated radio studio equipment like a mixer and some mics. To get and stay On-Air for one full year we need close to 000, but for now are hoping for
