East Eight’s first property crowdfund reaches £1.4M in just 9 days!
East Eight launched its first equity raise with Simple Equity and reached its goal of £1.4M in just 9 days. This is the first of many crowdfunded property developments by Hackney-based developers East Eight and sister company London Central Developments (LCD). The move reflects East Eight and LCD’s flexible finance ethos and will support their fast-growing portfolio of high-end projects across London.
East Eight have chosen to work with Simple Equity (www.SimpleEquity.co.uk), a specialist property crowdfunding platform.
“We saw eye-to-eye with Simple Equity immediately. They saw our vision, understood the limitations we were experiencing and were immediately ready to take action. It is very much about building a relationship with a crowdfunding platform which can last over several projects and through changes in the offering or your business strategy” said Nicole Bremner, the founder of East Eight.
Atuksha, a Co-Founder of Simple Equity, added:
“We are very happy to be working with Nicole and her team. Working with high-end property developers in London is a privilege and being able to offer such projects to our investors provides a real opportunity. We are looking forward to our continued relationship moving into 2017.”
This first project is a unique partnership with local youth club, St. Matthias Club, which LCD will redevelop as part of a brand new residential and commercial development on Dalston Lane, London. East Eight and LCD purchased the site last month from owners London Youth, who had placed the St. Matthias site on the market under ‘vacant possession’. The St. Matthias Club, formerly The St. Matthias Boys’ Club, has been serving boys aged 18-20 in Hackney at this venue for 49 years with after school recreational activities and a safe and friendly place to connect with others.
The Next Crowdfunding Opportunity from East Eight is already available.
Following the success of Dalston Lane, East Eight have decided to place another project on Simple Equity – the Harrington Gardens 4-bed flat development. A different project in a different area and managed by our sister development company London Central Developments, this one boasts a luxury finish in one of the most sought-after areas of London, South Kensington, SW7. This project has already reached 58% of its funding goal.
